This week we will be finishing our unit study on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We have finally completed the alphabet, we will now continue to review the letters and their sounds. We are also finishing up with the mystery bag and story bags, a few more friends still need their last turns.
Just a reminder: Don't forget to mark your calendar for International Night, This Friday! This is a very popular event with cultural presentations, and foods from many of the native countries of Thurston students and their families. It is a fun event for everyone, Presentation are from 6-6:30 and Country Showcases are from 6:30-8.
Lost and Found:
Has it been a while since you have seen your child’s favorite mittens or hat? We have a growing collection of boots, coats, lunchboxes, gloves, scarves, hats, etc.
Please stop by the lost and found and check for items that belong to your student! As the end of the year approaches we want to encourage families to reclaim all those missing items. Soon we will be washing items and donating what remains.
Safe Tips From Haven the Heron: Week of 4/30/18
Tips for this week are all about Bike & Helmet Safety
Bike riding is a lot of fun, but accidents happen. That's why it's so important to wear your bike helmet. Wearing one doesn't mean you can be reckless, but a helmet will provide some protection for your face, head, and brain in case you fall down.
- Your helmet should have a sticker that says it meets standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
- Wear a bike helmet EVERY TIME YOU RIDE, even if you are going for a short ride!
- Helmet straps should always be fastened. If the straps are flying, it's likely to fall off your head when you need it most.
