This week we will continue our unit study on Emotions, and look at the feeling of Thankfulness. Our letter focus will continue to be the letter C, due to the short week. Please help your child identify words that begin with the letter "C" sound.

Wednesday-Friday, November 22-24 No School- Thanksgiving Break
Report Cart come home this week please make sure to check your child's back pack on Tuesday.
With the colder weather please make sure your preschooler is dressed appropriately, the preschool room can be chilly on certain days and we are continuing to go outside twice daily to play. When purchasing winter items for your child please look to see if they are child friendly. We encourage the preschoolers to dress themselves for outside play; pull on snow pants, pull on boots ( not tie) and mittens over gloves help your child to gain independence in dressing themselves. Please remember when your child wears boots, please leave the boots outside by their backpacks, this helps to keep the wetness outside of the preschool room.
As we approach the holiday season PLEASE consider coming in and sharing a holiday custom/tradition you do with your family. For example; an activity that you do with your family that you could share with preschool, a special story that tells about your families holiday/tradition, a holiday game preschool could play, or just share what your holiday tradition is and how your family celebrates. As a preschool family we encourage our preschoolers to share and learn about the similarities and differences among our at home families. If you are interested in sharing with preschool please contact Mrs. Geidner.
Story Bags have started coming home with the preschoolers, if your child has not had one they will soon. A Story Bag is a story and a stuffed friend that visit the preschoolers home. When a story bag comes home with your child, please read the story with your child and have them tell you their favorite part of the story. In the Story Bag you will also find a spiral notebook, please help your child to write their favorite part of the story and draw a picture and or write some of the words. They will then present this to the class, along with any fun thing they did or shared with the stuffed friend while it visited their home. Please let your child enjoy the book bag and its contents at your home, and return after a few day to school for another friend to have a turn.
It’s Head Lice season and that pesky bug is among us (Not in the preschool room)! We are trying to take preventative efforts to make sure families are aware of what this bug is and how we can beat it. For more information you can visit this website;
Preschool needs your help in collecting gallon milk jugs for a project. Please wash and recap before bringing in to preschool. We need a lot of milk jugs so your help is greatly appreciated!
Please continue to look at your packaged goods for Box Top for Education, they are on a variety of products. Thurston school participates in this program and receives 10 cents for every box top turned in.
