Hello Preschool Parents,
This week we will continue our unit study on Transportation and things that go. This week our focus letter is the letter K.
Kindergarten Round up is coming! Thurston's Kindergarten round up is scheduled for THIS Thursday, February 20 from 6:00-7:30. For other Ann Arbor Public School Elementary schools Kindergarten Round up dates and time please refer to the Ann Arbor Public Schools website. We will also be holding a Preschool Open House at the same time please pass the information on to any friends or neighbors you know with preschool aged children, your recommendation is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions regarding Kindergarten readiness and/or young 5's please contact me.
Thinking ahead to summer AAPS Safety Town summer camp is now enrolling. Safety Town is a popular educational program sponsored by Ann Arbor Public Schools. The Programs goal is to help kids evaluate "safe" from "unsafe" situations; safety topics include bike, pedestrian, school bus, fire, water, guns, dogs, and more. Safety town is open to all students entering young 5's and Kindergarten in the fall. For more information go to https://www.a2schools.org/Page/5004. The easiest way to register for safety town is online at http:/bit.ly/AASafetyTown2020. I highly recommend enrolling your student in this program, if you have any questions please contact me.
Don't miss the Winter Carnival THIS Friday, February 21 from 5:30-7:30, there will be games ,face Painting, fun and concessions. The Scholastic Book Fair will also be open during the Winter Carnival so you can pick up a few new books for your child to read.
Thurston will be doing Spring Picture on March 5.
It is that time of year, many illnesses are going around Thurston, as a precaution we will be sending rest time bags home on a weekly basis for the next few weeks. Just a reminder, when your student is returning after being ill they need to be symptom free for 24 hours. This means your child has not vomited, had diarrhea or a fever in the past 24 hours. Thank you for your cooperation, germs are one thing we don't like to share at preschool. Also, we worry about your child if they are going to be absent please send me an email or call the preschool room directly at 734-997-1243.
Upcoming Dates to Remember:
Thursday, February 20- Thurston's Kindergarten Round-Up and Preschool Open House 6:00-7:30
Friday, February 21- Winter Carnival 5:30-7:30
Tuesday, February 25- Early Release Day Preschool ends at 1:29
Thank you for your continued support
Yours Truly,
Ann
